Logo Analysis

Logo Analysis

The company I have chosen is Interior Design. I would design the interior of houses, restaurants and Condo’s. I can completely redo a space or add a few touches to complete a room or space. I would focus on designing the seating and living area of the space but would expand and do kitchens and bathrooms. I can do past, future and present.
Two adjectives that describe the personality and the style of my company are modern and green. So, I create comfortable and calm settings with eco-friendly materials that will help cut down on our Eco footprint. I will also harmonize with the environment to make you feel as one with the room.

The animal that I think best describes my company is the dragonfly. The dragonfly symbolises sense of self, purity, positive forces, strength, harmony and power of life. And what I will design sends these messages. You feel positive forces keeping you at peace in your home/restaurants/Condo. I also feel that dragonflies symbolise freedom and space to live, so I use everything around me to design the room. Some facts about dragonflies are they have six legs like any other insect but can‘t walk well with their legs. They mostly eat mosquitoes but sometimes eat flies, bees, ants and rarely butterflies. Also the Greek word for dragonfly is Anisoptera which means not equal wings.

For my first logo I have chosen the brush stroke of a paint stroke which sends a calm vibe about my company. The line is not hard and straight it varies in thickness which also sends a relaxed message because I don’t focus on one particular idea or area, I let it flow and expand the interior that I am designing. I’ve used green because I’m an Eco-friendly company, and green symbolises nature/ecology and relaxation which I create in my interiors. All the lines fade in and out and create a rhythm that keeps moving around the outline of my logo. The shape of my logo is a dragonfly but I have used different shapes to create the logo such as circular rectangles, circles and ovals that create design on the logo. With my typographic logo it is only letters, but the letter style I have chosen lets your eyes flow through the writing and is legible. The colors I have used are black and green because my whole theme of my company is Eco-friendly so I wanted to keep that theme alive in all my logos. The combined logo has my pictorial logo put in as the “i” in design so the logo still looks visually pleasing. The type is legible and clear and the logo is not overlapping any of the letters so it doesn’t look crowded.

I have used many principles of design in my varies logos, such as in the pictorial I have used contrast because I have chosen two colors that make each other stand out like black and white, and green and white. I have used movement because the brush stroke I have chosen varies in thickness around the outline and your eye follows that outline which identifies it as a dragonfly. I have also used proportion because I have made wings of the dragonfly shaped to proportion the outline correctly. In my typographic logo I have used emphasis because all the letters in the logo are black except for the “i” in design which is connected to the “s”  in Sense and the “f” in Of. I have used movement because the letters flow across the page, there is a distinct path with the s, f and I. I have used balance because all the letters have the same thickness through out. In my pictorial and typographic logo I have shown emphasis because I have turned the letter “i”  in design to my logo of the dragonfly, which resembles the shape of an “i”. I’ve shown texture because the brush stroke I have chosen is a paint brush which creates rough looking texture that you can almost feel.

I feel my typographic and pictorial combined color logo best represents my company.  It shows the two main points that help identify my company to clients; what the name of my company is and what my logo theme is. In this logo I have chosen a legible font that is clear and catches your eye. I have created an eco-friendly feel with my animal choice and color. I have used negative space to shape my logo in the most effective spot. This logo can work in color, black and white and can be reproduced many times and still have the same appeal as the original. The logo can also be enlarged to go on posters and made small enough to fit on business cards, the logo will not become a blob.
